Kara brings determined and steadfast leadership to her projects, collaborating with a diverse range of project team members, from design professionals and general contractors to owners and property managers. As a team leader overseeing junior technical staff, she provides mentoring and guidance to emerging professionals while inspiring her team to develop innovative, high-performance solutions for building enclosure projects.

For the past several years, Kara has served as the lead project manager for two of the most complex, large-scale building enclosure consultation projects undertaken by the firm: the adaptive reuse and historic preservation of One Wall Street in Manhattan, which won the coveted Lucy G. Moses Award from the New York City Landmarks Conservancy, and the redevelopment of LaGuardia Airport Terminal B, which garnered the Prix Versailles as the best new airport terminal in the world.

A role model for young professionals within the firm and in the industry, Kara has been recognized by commercial real estate and design publications for her pioneering work as a woman leader in the AEC professions. She earned a degree in architectural engineering from the University of Hartford, and she applies her expertise in building enclosure systems to cultivating trusted relationships with long-term clients. One of the firm’s young leaders in the New York City office, Kara is committed to pioneering new opportunities and continuing to evolve the practice.

Active in the industry, Kara is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), AIA New York Women in Architecture Committee (WIA), Association for Preservation Technology (APT), National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB), New York Landmarks Conservancy, Professional Women in Construction (PWC), and United States Green Building Council (USGBC).
