Hoffmann Architects Promotes Kristen Anderson to Project Coordinator
Hoffmann Architects, an architecture and engineering firm specializing in the rehabilitation of building exteriors, is pleased to announce the promotion of a member of the New York technical staff.
Kristen T. Anderson, Assoc. AIA has been promoted to Project Coordinator in recognition of her experience and contributions to the firm.
Anderson celebrated her third anniversary with Hoffmann Architects in June. She joined the firm in 2019 as Project Representative and earned a promotion in 2021 to Senior Project Representative in recognition of her increasing job responsibilities and valued contributions. Having worked on more than 30 projects for corporate, educational, government, healthcare, hospitality, mixed-use, religious, and residential structures, Anderson is experienced with facade inspections, roof replacements, hardscape and plaza rehabilitation, and New York City Facade Inspection Safety Program (FISP) investigations. An honors scholar, Anderson earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York.
She is knowledgeable with a variety of building materials, such as brick, limestone, granite, copper, and steel. Anderson also serves as a filing representative for New York City Department of Buildings permit applications. She has contributed to many projects at Columbia University, most notably providing contract administration services for a historic brick paver walkway replacement at Low Library, roof replacement for the Chrystie Fieldhouse at the Baker Athletic Complex, and site improvements for Morningside Heights Campus College Walk. Other significant contributions include design and construction administration for facade and roof repairs as well as subcellar waterproofing at 14 East 67th Street; 13 roof replacements, including a copper roof, at Farmingdale State College Lupton Hall; and FISP investigations at 101 Avenue of the Americas and 501 East 87th Street (River’s Bend).
Since its inception in 2021, Anderson has been an active member of the Hoffmann Architects Emerging Professionals Group. As co-leader, she has taken the initiative to research and obtain study materials, facilitate conversation, and develop discussion topics. Through her efforts, Hoffmann Architects instituted a new employee benefit in early 2022, offering paid membership to an architecture exam preparation service, which provides study and practice materials for the Architect Registration Examination (ARE). In addition, Anderson serves on the Hoffmann Architects Technical Training Committee, collaborating in seminar planning, creating presentation slides, and organizing an educational resource site for employees.
Outside the office, she enjoys ice and roller skating and took ice skating lessons earlier this year to master the basics. She also enjoys reading fiction, sketching and drawing in pen and pencil, painting nature and landscapes with watercolors and acrylics, and crocheting.
From mentoring new employees to pitching in with the New York office move, Anderson’s enthusiasm and can-do attitude contribute to a positive workplace culture. Her dedication to continued growth and learning not only for her own career, but for others’ professional advancement, have made her a valued part of the team.
