Rameesa Z. Ahmed, Assoc. AIA

Project Representative

As an undergraduate at the University of Texas at Arlington, Rameesa brought her studies in architecture and urban and public affairs out of the classroom and into the diverse cities of Europe. While studying abroad at the University of Innsbruck-Austria, she traveled to Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, and Germany. She then continued her education at Syracuse University, where she earned a Master of Architecture degree.

Committed to advancing underrepresented voices in the industry, Rameesa began her exploration of architecture in the Architecture, Construction, and Engineering (ACE) Mentor Program while in high school, earning a scholarship for her achievements. After graduation, she returned to ACE as a mentor and prepared students for the annual design competition. At the University of Texas, she joined the American Institute of Architects Students organization (AIAS), rising to co-director of the chapter by her senior year. While there, she established meaningful mentoring relationships between students and area architecture firms that continued beyond her tenure. When she arrived at Syracuse University for her master’s program, she served as the graduate representative to the National Organization of Minority Architects Students chapter (NOMAS), planning events and programming to help minority students navigate academic and professional obstacles.

At Hoffmann, Rameesa brings experience in private practice design firms, as well as skills honed as a teaching assistant and mentor, to supporting New York building enclosure projects.

Outside the office, Rameesa is an avid traveler and has visited more than 20 countries. She enjoys hiking, as well as pottery and ceramics. She was born in Bangladesh and is fluent in Bengali.
